Hawaii Wedding Regulations and Resources
Planning your own wedding? Clergymen, Florists, Caterers, Bakeries, Photography, Locations, etc.
Hawaii is a wonderful place to get married, celebrate an anniversary or to renew your wedding vows. If you're getting married, here's what you need to know and what documents to bring with you before you apply for a Hawaii marriage license. We recommend getting this legal aspect of your wedding out of the way about a month before your wedding date.
You must show proof of age. If you are 19 years old or older, a valid I.D. or driver's license is sufficient. Anyone who is 18 years of age or younger needs to present a certified copy of a birth certificate.
Residency Requirement: You do not have to be a resident of Hawaii.
Fees in Hawaii: It will cost you approximately $60 to get married in Hawaii - cash only.
Previous Marriages:If previously married, the date of divorce or date of spouse's death must be supplied.
State and county marriage license requirements often change. The above information is for guidance only and should not be regarded as legal advice.
It is important that you verify all information with your local marriage license office or county clerk before making any wedding or travel plans.

Other Info- If you are looking for a church setting for your wedding, check out our Church Map page. Looking for a wedding cake? The local Safeway has great wedding cakes. When planning your reception, keep in mind that most vacation rental properties will not allow groups larger than 20-25. Check with your rental agent before you plan. If you need a larger venue, there is a local Elks club and a hall in Honokohau Harbor.
