Discover Scuba Diving – For the first timer or experienced Snuba® diver ready for the next step. Your instructor will orientate you and teach you a few skills to introduce you to scuba diving, followed by a guided underwater tour.

We make sure to choose sites that are as attractive to snorkelers as are to divers. One of the benefits of Kona is the fact that all of our reefs fringe the shoreline. So getting to a snorkel/dive site is quick and easy. We prefer to spend our time in the water, instead of cruising long distances. Some of our best sites are less than 20 minutes away!

You will be amazed at the variety of marine life to view from the surface, and you can always upgrade to Snuba®, should you change your mind, and time allows!

Wanna Dive Kona

Our boat was completely rebuilt in late '07 and is powered by twin 4 stroke engines - fast, quiet, fuel efficient and very low emissions. We have plenty of shade and carry up to 6 passengers. We go with as few as 2 on morning dives, 3 on night dives. Dan O2, VHF radio, first aid and all required Coast Guard safety materials are on board and we are camera friendly. Our crew includes Cathy, Scuba instructor and USCG licensed Captain. She has been leading dives in Kona since 1977! Steve is the owner as well as a dive instructor and USCG Captain. Small charters and a regular crew of 3 means we'll get to know what you're looking for.

Sandwich Isle Divers offers a unique and enjoyable boat diving experience. For your comfort, dive charters are kept to a maximum of six passengers. We offer a full range of scuba instruction courses, and if you're interested in shore diving Kona's waters, check out our equipment rental rates.

The most popular dive we offer is a two-tank, two-location morning dive. The average boat ride is twenty minutes. The variety of underwater structure in relatively shallow water lends to a typical dive profile in the thirty to sixty foot range. We find this dive plan optimal for a number of reasons: The greatest variety of sea life is in shallow water, The risk of "the bends" is greatly reduced in the "comfort zone",and we prefer 60 minutes of bottom time at thirty feet to 15 minutes at ninety feet. In addition, afternoon dives, night and night/dusk dives, and fish/dive charters are always available on request.
