Fishing Boats
***Local Fishing Boats for Marlin, Ahi, and other Deep Sea Fish***

"Catch 'Em" Sport Fishing

Catchem I is owned and operated by Captain Chuck Haupert. You may have seen Chuck in such magazines as Marlin and Sport Fishing, or on tv with Inside Big Game Fishing.

Catchem I is a comfortable, fast, tournament equipped vessel. Built in Hawaii, designed to fish Hawaiian waters, she is powered by twin Cummins Turbo diesels. State of the art electronics along with Penn International Tackle complete the package.

"My approach to fishing is to carefully personalize every day with close attention to each fisherman's individual requirements."

Over the past three years Catchem I has been in the top five Kona charter boats in fish tagged and released. We also offer custom taxidermy work for those anglers who desire to mount their fish (which can also be done for tagged fish).

Capt Jeff Rodgers, "Aloha Kai" & "Grand Slam"

With two boats to choose from and Captain Jeff Rogers as your captain, you get to choose the boat and style that suits you best. On the "Aloha Kai", Captain Jeff offers a unique hands-on sportfishing experience where people with some medium sized fish under their belt can get more hands on with the tackle and learn the ropes of the rest of the process. Big game fishing experience is not necessary!

If you don't feel comfortable handling the rods, reels, lures, etc., then "Grand Slam" might be more your style. On the Grand Slam, the deckhand (also a licensed captain) and I will handle all the tackle except for reeling in your fish.

Another thing that sets captain Jeff apart from the rest of the Kona fishing fleet is the fact that he finds "fishing" to be boring. Let's go catching! The typical Hawaii fishing charter will wander around the ocean all day, trolling lures and hoping for the best. If the trolling bite is good and there's enough action to keep things moving, then that's what we do. If not, the Kona bottom bite is almost always a guarantee of catching large fish.

Capt Robert Hudson, "Camelot Sport" Fishing

We offer a variety of fun packages, including a full day combination fishing/snorkeling adventure to Kealakekua Bay. For those of you who have never fished before, or who want to save money on their fishing trip, we also offer "share boats": instead of getting the boat to yourself, you share the boat with up to five other people for four hours. The only husband-wife team in the business, we've been piloting the waters off the Kona Coast for 14 years.  Together, we've got more than thirty years in the business.
